Dr. Robert Litchfield is a highly-trained and qualified physician specializing in Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Litchfield is board certified in Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology and Internal Medicine. He received his medical degree from the Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1975. He then completed his Rotating Internship and Internal Medicine Residency at Chicago Osteopathic Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, followed by his Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.

Dr. Litchfield is on staff at The Community Hospital in Munster, IN as well as St. Margaret Mercy Healthcare Center in Dyer, IN and St. James Hospital and Health Center in Olympia Fields, IL. His outpatient affiliations are with CardioSpecialists and Advocate Medical Group. He holds an academic appointment as a Professor of Medicine for Cardiovascular Disease and Nuclear Medicine with Midwestern University and has a keen interest in Medical Informatics.

Dr. Litchfield is highly skilled and keeps his medical knowledge up to date through continuing medical education. His commitment to health care has extended beyond his own practice. He served as the Director of Medical Education for Midwestern University for thirteen years and remains actively involved in the training of residents. Dr. Litchfield is a caring and compassionate physician who strives to offer the highest quality of health care possible.

Dr. Litchfield resides in the south suburban area of Illinois and his personal interests include travel, buying and restoring antiques, and snow skiing.
